Prerequisites: Eligibility for a Specialty License in Eyelash Extension Application.

1. A person holding a specialty license in eyelash extension application may perform only the practice of cosmetology defined in Section 1602.002(a) (11).
2. To be eligible for a specialty license in eyelash extension application, an applicant must:
   1. be at least 17 years of age;
   2. have obtained a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma or have passed a valid examination administered by a certified testing agency that measures the person’s ability to benefit from training; and
   3. have completed a training program described by Section 1602.2572 that has been approved by the commission.

Section 1602.2572. Eyelash Extension Application Training Program.

1. An eyelash extension application training program must include at least 320 hours of classroom instruction and practical experience, including at least eight hours of theoretical instruction, and include instruction in the following areas:
   1. recognizing infectious or contagious diseases of the eye and allergic reactions to materials;
   2. proper sanitation practices;
   3. occupational health and safety practices;
   4. eyelash extension application procedures; and
   5. eyelash extension isolation and separation procedures.
2. An instructor at an eyelash extension application training program must comply with Section 1602.251(b).
3. The commission shall adopt rules regarding eyelash extension application training programs and may establish or designate approved training programs.

Class Expectations

1. Be Prepared for class. Please have paper, pens, combination lock, homework, and any other materials that your instructor may specify. If you are not prepared for class you will not be allowed to enter the classroom.
2. Attend each class and arrive on time and stay through entire class period. Please Call and speak to attendance clerk and/or text if you will be arriving late prior to class start time. Keep in mind there is a cut off time for Day/Night class and you will be counted absent if you do not arrive prior to the specified deadline. You will NOT be permitted into class. If you are absent, you cannot participate and this WILL affect your “Participation Grade”.
3. There are NO CELL PHONES permitted in your Theory class. Phones are to be secured in the locker provided. In the event you have an emergency notify the instructor prior to class to make him/her aware. Family is to contact the front office and they will come notify you in private outside of the class environment.
4. Laptops are to be closed during class activities. Activities require active participation. Activities included but are not limited to dialog, discussions, team building exercises, etc.)
5. Provide productive experiences as nearly like those “on-the-job” as possible.
6. Participation in all class discussions, task, & assignments.
7. Support the development of the classroom of classroom community, mutual respect, collaboration, & support.
8. Develop an understanding of the functions of the occupation and the relationship with other occupations.
9. Complete all assignments on time. Late assignments will not be given credit unless under pre approved circumstances.
10. No Food in the classroom. All Liquids must be kept in a spill proof container.
11. It is the student’s responsibility to contact a class colleague to catch up on assignments missed and/or to obtain copies of class handouts

Class Goals

1. Provide a learning environment, in which students strengthen inner emotional controls, increase self-confidence and self-discipline, and establish a sense of dignity and self-worth.
2. Present learning activities, which teach students to listen, observe, solve problems and develop manipulative skills.
3. Provide diverse instructional strategies, which meet student’s needs and learning styles.
4. Provide an opportunity to learn the basic skills of the trade together with the related scientific and technical knowledge for advancement necessary in the cosmetology field.
5. Provide productive experiences as nearly like those “on-the-job” as possible.
6. Provide safety consciousness in the work environment.
7. Promote interpersonal relationships, which are directed toward developing the ability to work cooperatively.
8. Develop an understanding of the functions of the occupation and the relationship with other occupations.
9. Provide an opportunity for students to develop leadership abilities.
10. Create a learning environment in which students will develop an appreciation for quality craftsmanship.
11. Provide students with salable skills in the cosmetology field.
12. Develop a positive work ethic and the self-discipline required for work and advancement in the industry.

Course Assignment Descriptions

Please be prepared for class. You are required to bring paper and pen/pencil. Notes taking are a must. Recording devices are prohibited. During each class students will be asked to take notes during theory. Every week there will be a project given that will be turned in every Tuesday that goes with each lesson learned. Test days are Fridays, after lunch.

Students may attend Day Class, Evening Class, or both.
NO MAKE UP OPPORTUNITES FOR ABSENCES, LATE ARRIVALS, OR TARDIES.
Students will need to clock in on their scheduled shift to be able to clock additional hours within the same day.
